Blazers Top Carleton 189-111

Results

The College of Saint Benedict swimmig and diving team took on Carleton College on Saturday afternoon in a MIAC battle. The Blazers came out on top, winning with a team score of 189-111.

Several Blazer swimmers stepped up and swam well. CSB diver Alissa Lager (St. Peter, MN, St. Peter) won both the 1 and 3 meter dives. The Blazers had a big one, two, three finish in the 200 yard butterfly. Along with that the Blazers also finished one, two, three, four, five in the 100 yard breaststroke. In the 200 yard breaststroke the Blazers once again finished one through five. Maria Gathje (Bloomington, MN, Bloomington Jefferson) was the winner in both the 100 and 200 yard breastrokes.  Emily Roberts (Eden Prairie, MN, Benilde-St. Margaret's) swam well winning the 100 yard backstroke and finishing second in the 200 yard backstroke. CSB won the 400 yard medley relay, the team consisted of Emily Roberts (Eden Prairie, MN, Benilde-St. Margaret's), Maria Gathje (Bloomington, MN, Bloomington Jefferson), Ellen Dean (Bothell, WA, Henry M. Jackson), and Kristen Beste (Freeport, MN, Melrose).

The Blazers have swam well all year, they try to continue their success as the travel down the road to St. Cloud, to take on St. Cloud State University on Saturday Jan. 20 at 5 pm.
