In their last game of the 2010-2011 ice hockey season, the College of Saint Benedict (4-16-3, 3-11-2 MIAC) fell 6-0 to Saint Catherine University this afternoon in Inver Grove Heights. The Blazers close out their season with three seniors moving on and 19 veterans returning.

 First-year goalie Kaithlyn Rolando started in net for the Blazers, compiling 28 saves on the day. Junior defender Rachel Welz and junior forward Amie Ernst led the team with three shots on net. Despite finishing the game with 20 shots on net the Blazers were stymied by the stellar play of senior goalie Mel Gerten, who recorded her first shutout of the year.

Saint Benedict finished the year with 4 wins, besting their total from the previous season by a game. With many returning players, the Blazers look forward to what next season will bring.
