The College of Saint Benedict basketball team (8-1 overall, 6-0 MIAC) defeated St. Olaf 66-40 tonight, standing alone in the first place slot in the MIAC.
The Blazers kicked off the game with a 12-0 run off of four three-pointers over the first 3:30 of the first half. St. Olaf was able to close the gap to four points at 19-15 with six minutes remaining before the Blazers jumped a 16-0 run to grasp 20-point lead heading into the lockerroom. The Blazers were able to pick up 18 of the first-half 35 points points off of 14 Ole turnovers in the half.
CSB was able to maintain its distance in the second half, extending its lead to 33 points at one point in the half. The Blazers forced another 16 Ole turnovers, commiting only 14 themselves throughout the entire game. They went on to win 66-40 for their sixth consecutive win, remaining undefeated in the MIAC.
