Limited turnovers helped the College of Saint Benedict basketball team defeat Augsburg 67-52 this evening in Minneapolis, Minn.
CSB jumped off to a quick 6-2 lead in the first 1:30 of the half, maintaining their distance from Augsburg until 7:30 remained on the clock. At that point, the Auggies jumped ahead 19-17 but never extended their lead to more than four points. With 1:30 remaining, the Blazers tied the game and 30 seconds later jumped ahead 23-22, heading into the locker room 25-22 at the buzzer.
The teams matched basket for basketball, and soon enough the Blazers continued to lengthen their margin over the Auggies, who never again regained the lead. CSB, who at one point lead by 23 points, finished the game with a 67-52 win after committing only three of the total ten turnovers in the second half.
