The College of Saint Benedict basketball team extends its winning streak to seven in a 68-48 win over St. Olaf tonight in Northfield, Minn.
The Blazers started the scoring with two freethrows by sophomore
Amy Stifter, and kept the lead from then on. A 14-0 run in the middle of the first half extended that lead and gave CSB the cushion it needed, finishing the half with a 40-18 lead.
Both teams matched basket for basket throughout the second half, but the Oles couldn't make up the difference. CSB won with a final score of 68-48.
Twelve Blazers scored in the win against the Oles. Leading the charge was senior
Ariel Tauer (Edina, MN, Edina) and sophomore
Laura Canton (Pine Island, MN, Pine Island), each scoring ten points.
The Blazers head home to St. Joseph, Minn., on Wed., Jan 7 to battle Augsburg at 7:30 p.m.
