Mikayla VonWahlde-Fleischhacker

Mikayla VonWahlde-Fleischhacker is serving as assistant coach for the College of Saint Benedict Swim and Dive program. She was named to the role in the 2022-23 season and will be coaching her third year in 2024-25.

Originally of Freeport, Minn., VonWahlde-Fleischhacker will handle assistant swim coach duties along with serving as an admissions representative for College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's. She has helped the Bennies to a top six team finish in each of the three seasons. CSB was fifth in 2022-23 and sixth in both 2023-24 and 2024-25.

A graduate of Melrose Area High School (Minn.) in 2018 and the College of Saint Benedict in 2021 (communication/marketing), she was a three-time All-MIAC selection in swimming. 

While competing for the Bennies, VonWahlde-Fleischhacker excelled in the pool and the classroom. She was named the CSB Rookie of the Year in 2018-19 and was Academic All-MIAC.  As a first-year standout in 2018-19, she set three school records at CSB including the 100 and 200 backstroke and 100 IM while also swimming on the 200 and 400 medley relay teams that established top-10 program times at the league championships. As a junior she also earned All-MIAC honors. 

During her time at CSB, she participated in Women’s Choir, Benedictine Friends, student employment and the swimming program.  

Von Wahlde-Fleischhacker took part in swimming and synchronized swimming for six years at Melrosie Area High School. She earned the Hardest Worker in swimming (2016), Most Valuable Swimmer (2017), All-Area Swim Team (2015-17), and All-State Swim Team (2016, 2017). Aside from those efforts, she broke a 32-year-old record in the 100-yard backstroke.
