Jack Marmon begins his first season as an assistant coach for flag football at College of Saint Benedict, bringing decades of coaching experience and a lifelong commitment to education and athletics.
A graduate of Taylor Falls High School (1977), Marmon was a four-sport athlete, earning 12 varsity letters in football, baseball, basketball, and track. He continued his academic and athletic career at Winona State University, where he graduated in 1982 with bachelor’s degrees in social science and history and a minor in coaching. A two-year starting quarterback, Marmon also served as team captain during his senior season.
Marmon’s coaching career began immediately after college and spans more than four decades across high school and collegiate levels. His early stops included Taylors Falls High School (1982) and Lakewood Community College (1983–85), now known as Century College. He then moved to Hamline University, where he served as an assistant football coach from 1986–90, working with tight ends, running backs, and wide receivers, while also serving as assistant recruiting coordinator. During his tenure, Hamline captured a share of the 1988 MIAC Championship and produced three All-Americans. Marmon also coached junior varsity men’s basketball from 1988–90 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies education.
He continued his coaching journey at Coon Rapids High School (1990–92), helping guide the team to a section finals appearance, before returning to Hamline for the 1993 season. Marmon then spent time at Triton High School (1994–96), where he taught middle school social studies and coached football, girls basketball, and softball. During that stretch, Triton won the 1994 AA State Championship and reached the 1995 AA State Semifinals.
From 1996–99, Marmon taught and coached at Wabasha-Kellogg High School, serving as offensive coordinator and coaching future Saint John’s University All-American Ryan Weinandt, while also contributing as a strength coach.
Marmon’s longest tenure came at Little Falls High School, where he taught social studies from 1999 until his retirement in 2024. He served as head football coach from 1999–2007 and has continued as head C-squad coach since 2008. In addition, he has led strength and conditioning programs and currently serves as an assistant coach for the school’s Olympic weightlifting team.
