High School: Thier is a 2021 graduate of Worthington Senior High School where she participated in cross country and track. She received the Most Improved Award for track in 2019 and Minnesota Track and Field Academic All-State Award in 2021. Thier also skated with the Blue Mound Figure Skating Club. The proudest moment of her career was setting her personal best in both cross country and track during her senior year, especially during COVID and all the changes.
Personal: Maranda is the daughter of Maria and Mark Thier and she has three siblings Marisa, Mara, and Marik. In her free time, she enjoys snowmobiling, paddle boarding, figure skating, boating, and hanging out with friends. She is majoring in elementary education with a minor in El education. While at CSB, Maranda is looking forward to meeting new people, being a part of a team, improving her running abilities, and looking forward to the opportunities that await her.
