2021: OUTDOOR: Competed in three meets before her senior season was cut short due to injury ... part of three top-three relay finishes ... took second in the 400 on March 27 at SJU ... INDOOR: competed with the 4x400 relay team at the Wartburg Elite Meet and took ninth ... ran the third-best 300 time in CSB history (43.68) on Feb. 28 against Concordia ... ran a career-best 200 time of 27.78 seconds on Feb. 13 at SJU.
2020: Earned Academic All-MIAC honors ... OUTDOOR: The 2020 outdoor season was canceled by the NCAA on March 13 due to the COVID19 pandemic ... INDOOR: qualified for the MIAC Championships in the 400 and 600 ... took 11th in the 600 and 12th in the 400 ... earned All-MIAC Honorable Mention with the fourth-place 4x400-meter relay team ... also took seventh with the 4x200-meter relay team ... recorded a career-best 600 time at the St. Olaf Women's Invite ... recorded five individual top-five finishes, including second in the 600 at St. Olaf.
2019: OUTDOOR: Qualified for the MIAC Championships in the 200 and 400 ... took ninth in the 400 ... earned All-MIAC Honorable Mention with the sixth-place 400-meter relay team ... also took eighth with the 4x400 relay team ... ran a career-best time of 26.87 seconds in the 200 at the conference meet ... won the 400 twice ... INDOOR: qualified for the conference meet in the 400 and 600 and as part of the 1,600-meter relay and the DMR ... took eighth in the 400 and 11th in the 600 ... won the 400 at the Alumnae Meet and the 600 at the Hamster Invite.
2018: OUTDOOR: qualified for the MIAC Championships in the 200, 400 and 4x400 relay ... finished fifth in the relay to earn All-MIAC Honorable Mention ... also took eighth in the 400 ... notched the sixth-best time in the 400 in CSB history (59.36) at MIAC meet ... recorded nine top-10 finishes as a first year ... won the 400 at the Manitou Classic ... INDOOR: qualified for MIAC Championships in 400, 600 and 4x400 relay ... finished ninth in the 400 and 600 and fourth in the relay to earn All-MIAC Honorable Mention ... took first or second in seven events in the indoor season.
High School: Kelly is a 2017 graduate of Chanhassen High School. She ran track and field all four years, played soccer for three years, and ran cross country one year. Won many awards for her outstanding work on the track, including earning All-Conference honors in 2016 and 2017, making the Academic All-Conference team in 2017, and being voted the Sprinter of the Year at Chanhassen. She set the Chanhassen school record in the 400m dash (57.8 seconds) and 4x400m relay (3:59.51), and finished top ten in two events in 2016, 7th in the 4x400m relay and 5th in the 400m dash.Â
Personal: Kelly is the daughter of Kim and Kurt Klingelhutz and has two sisters, Laura and Alyssa. Her father and uncle both attended SJU. She loves feeling like part of the team and community at CSB, and loves representing Saint Benedict while doing something she loves. Kelly is a double-major in Communication and Global Business Leadership.Â
