Katelyn Van Marel-Season-Career Results 

2024: INDOOR: Competed in four meets, recording three top-eight finishes … took 7^th place in the mile at the CSB/SJU Alumni Meet with a career-best time of 6:24.35 … took 7^th place in the 800 with a time of 2:45.94 at the CSB/SJU Invitational … set a career-best in the 800 at the St. Olaf Tostrud Classic with a time of 2:44.51.

High School: A 2023 graduate of Hutchinson High School, Van Marel participated in dance for five years. She also participated in Studio Dance. Her achievements in dance include, competing on the All-Conference Dance Team and earning Academic Achievement Awards in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. The proudest moment of her track and field career career is how she has stayed consistent, worked hard, and put in her best effort. She is proud to see her effort pay off, making her faster and healthier. 

Personal: The daughter of Heidi and Jason Van Marel, Katelyn has two siblings named William and Benjamin. In her free time, she likes running, dancing, and spending time with her friends. Katelyn is a Nursing major at CSB. She likes being a collegiate student-athlete because it allows her to be around people who share similar morals, ideals, and motivations. She appreciates having support from teammates during practice and in life. She also loves the structure that practice brings to her day and how it leaves her feeling happier and fulfilled.
