2024: INDOOR: Did not compete during the indoor season.

2023: OUTDOOR: Competed in seven meets, recording two top-8 finishes …  competed in the MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, setting a career-best in the 3000-steeplechase with a time of 13:28.67 … took 7th place at the Norse Invite with a 3000-steeplechase time of 14:08.78 … set a career-best in the 1500-meter at the Running on Hope Invitational with a time of 5:46.19 … finished in 8th place in the 3000-steeplechase with a time of 13:38.65 at the St. Thomas Joe Sweeney Invitational … INDOOR: Competed in five meets … set a career-best in the 1000-meter with a time of 3:48.09 at the Mondo College Invitational … set a career-best in the mile with a time of 6:18.59 at the Gopher Classic … took 7th place in the 3000-meter at the CSB/SJU Invitational with a time of 12:40.40 … set a career-best in the 3000-meter with a time of 12:38.44 at the St. Olaf Tostrud Classic.

High School: A 2021 graduate of Sun Prairie High School in Sun Prairie, Wis, Tess participated in wrestling for eight years, cross country for seven and track and field for six. She earned varsity letters in cross country each year from 2018-20, and earned academic all-conference for wrestling those same years. Her proudest moment was making it to sectionals during her senior year.

Personal: The daughter of Heidi and Mike Tess, Emily has three siblings: Isaac, Adam and Ann. She enjoys reading and biking, and is a Biology major at CSB/SJU. She likes being a collegiate student-athlete because she enjoys how close the team is and the community that comes from running.
