Biography
High School: Graduated from Rogers in 2006...coached by Roland Ring-Jarvi...in her high school career participated in nordic skiing for four years and cross country and track for three years each...multiple all-conference awards and two all-state awards for nordic...MVP of her nordic ski team...winner of the Athena Award… two time academic all-state in track… captain in cross country and track… two time all-conference honors in cross country and track each… 4th place at 2004 track State True Team Meet… competed in sports at Elk River High School until Rogers High School started cross country and track programs.
Personal: Daughter of Mary and Tom Nowak of Dayton, Minn… brother Tony currently attends SJU, and her mother and four siblings are alumni of CSB/SJU… family moved over summer of 2008 to Annandale… enjoys outdoor sports, camping, gardening, reading and hanging out with friends and family… majoring in Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies and German.
What do like about being a collegiate student-athlete?
I get to meet a lot of cool people and make some really good friends. I also probably wouldn't know what to do with myself if I wasn't playing sports!
"Points of Pride" What Have You Accomplished in the Sport of Track & Field?
The first time I ran the 5k last year, I qualified for the conference meet. Last year I also managed to avoid getting injured for the first time in several years, which was an accomplishment in itself.
