High School: A 2009 graduate of Rochester Lourdes High School, Wood was coached by Paul Bachman and participated in swimming and diving (five years) at John Marshall High School and golf (two years) at Lourdes during her athletic career. She is a five-time state meet participant and conference relay champion as well as being part of the conference and section champion teams. Wood was named captain of both the swimming and diving and golf teams.
Personal: Wood is the daughter of Wendy Wood of Rochester, Minn. She enjoys hiking, camping, canoeing, and sailing. She is majoring in psychology and environmental studies.
What is your proudest moment of your career?
"My proudest moment in my career is last season getting 2nd in the 800 free relay at Conference earning a Nationals B cut."
What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete?
"I enjoy being a student-athlete because of the balance that it gives me. College can be very demanding at times and when I am stressed, I can take my mind off of my schoolwork in the pool. The team and coaches allow me to relax from the stress of college. I am able to advance my education while continuing my swimming career."
