High School: A 2009 graduate of Milaca High School, Nystrom was coached by Joe Wildman and Jennie Burroughs. She participated in swimming (four years), basketball (four years) and golf (four years). Nystrom captained her golf and swimming and diving teams. She was three-time All-Conference and was a five-time member of the All-Conference Academic team in swimming, basketball and golf. Nystrom was an Academic All-State Selection in 2005 and was All-Conference in basketball and golf. She was also two-time MVP of the golf team.

Personal: Nystrom is the daughter of Susan and Timothy Nystrom of Foreston, Minn. She enjoys playing sports, traveling, and spending time with friends. Nystrom is majoring in biochemistry and pre-med with a minor in hispanic studies.

What is your proudest moment of your career (in your respective sport)? 
"The training trip to Puerto Rico last winter - everyone worked extremely hard in the pool, as well as with team bonding, which showed when we returned to the U.S."

What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? 
"Being able to get to know the amazing women on the team."
