Shelby Schneider begins her second season as an assist coach with the CSB hockey team in 2020-21. Schneider's coaching tenure comes after a four-year playing career with the Bennies from 2015-19. In her first season with the program, Saint Benedict finished the season 11-12-1 overall - the most wins for the team since 2001-02.
Schneider – who works primarily with the team’s forwards – has also served as an assistant coach at the youth level. She served as an assistant coach for the District 5 High Performance team in 2017, the Grizzlies AAA 14U squad from 2013-15 and was a camp counselor at the High Performance 15U Summer Camp from 2016-18.
Schneider, who graduated from CSB/SJU in May 2019 with a degree in communication, also worked at Day One Sports as a strength and conditioning coach from 2017-19 and was a student strength and conditioning coach for CSB athletics in 2017-18.
In four years with the CSB hockey team, Schneider recorded nine goals and four assists. She played in 94 games and scored a pair of game-winning goals. She currently works at Leighton Broadcasting in St. Cloud.
