Biography
Kathryn Hauff's Video Comments
2011-12: Hauff was selected to the National Golf Coaches Association All-Midwest Region Team, as well as being named MIAC golf senior of the year. She was also featured in the MIAC Profile of Excellence, inducted into the Minnesota Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, MIAC Co-Golf Athlete of the Week during the week of September 27, and Blazer Athlete of the Week on October 4. She took first place at the NCAA Division III Midwest Classic. Hauff also completes her CSB golf career with having six of the top ten school records for the 18 hole, and five top spots in the 36 hole. She had an overall average of 80.2.
2010-11: Hauff was a second team All-American, selected to the National Golf Coaches Association 2010-11 All-American Scholar golf team and was an All-MIAC golfer. She tied for 37th at the NCAA Division III Golf National Championships. She placed in the top-three of every other meet she competed in, including three first place finishes. Hauff averaged a score of 80.4 and broke 80 five times. She was also named MIAC Golf Athlete of the Week twice during the course of the year.
2009-10: Hauff was elected to the College of St. Benedict Board of Trustees and received the NCAA Elite 88 Award. She took 47th at the NCAA Division III Golf National Championships and was named team MVP. Hauff was also a Division III All-American Honorable Mention and received all-conference honors. She recorded five top five finishes for the Blazers and finished second at St. Thomas Invitational. Hauff averaged 81.29 over the course of the year and broke 80 four times. She recorded the lowest 18 and 36 hole scores in Blazer history.
2008-09: Hauff finished her first year by being voted team MVP while averaging 84.25 over the course of the year. She took medal honors at the Cobber Open, winning in a playoff after firing a 78. Hauff broke 80 three times and finished tied for 8th at the Concordia Invite with a 162. She also took first at the Blazer Invite shooting a 79 and tied for 14th at the MIAC Championships. Hauff tied for 20th at the Carleton Spring Invite and the Saint Thomas Invite and also recorded the third and fourth lowest rounds in Blazer history.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Shanley High School, Hauff was coached by Don Johnson and participated in golf (seven years) during her athletic career at Shanley. Hauff was named team MVP three times as well as team captain. She was on the all state team four years and won eight conference meets during career. Hauff was a part of the North Dakota state championship teams in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
Personal: Hauff is the daughter of Eileen and David Hauff of Fargo, ND. Her sister Laura and brother Jon attended CSB/SJU. She enjoys hockey, reading, music, going to the lake and spending time with family. Hauff is majoring in political science/pre-law.
What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete?
“Playing golf at St. Bens gives me the opportunity to continue competing in college but still allows me to focus on my studies and ultimately, what I want to accomplish in life.”
