2020-21: Saw playing time in four of the team's games as a first year in a season shortened due to the COVID19 pandemic ... scored a career-high seven points twice, including the team's final game of the season against Augsburg ... also pulled down five rebounds against the Auggies ... averaged 5.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.

High School: Luetmer is the 2020 graduate of Melrose Area High School. She played basketball for four years where she earned all-conference four times and all-section honors three times.She finished as the program's all-time leading scorer and surpassed the 2,000-point milestone, and won team and conference MVP honors. Makiya also participated in volleyball and softball for four years. In volleyball she earned all-conference accolades three times and all-section twice, and surpassed the 1,000-assist milestone. In softball she earned all-conference in 2018-19 and was named team MVP. Her proudest moment was becoming the all-time leading scorer for Melrose girls basketball. 

Personal: Makiya is the daughter of Sheri and Anthony Luetmer and she has one brother, Zak. Her hobbies include playing sports, hanging with friends, and hunting. She likes being a collegiate student-athlete because it gives her a balance between basketball and academics while still being able to play competitively. She plans to major in accounting at CSB/SJU.
