2023: Novak earned All MIAC, and MIAC athlete of the week. She held a 1.80 ERA (first on the team and second in the MIAC), and opposing batting average of .211 (second on the team and fourth in the MIAC) and a record of 13-5 (for number of wins: first on the team and second in the MIAC). She pitched 108.2 innings (first on the team and sixth in the MIAC), allowed 83 hits (second on the team and 12th in the MIAC), 32 runs (second on the team, sixth in the MIAC), and 123 strikeouts (first on the team and second in the MIAC). She had 28 earned runs allowed (first on the team, sixth in the MIAC), 18 walks allowed (first on the team and eighth in the MIAC).
2022: Named NFCA All-Midwest Region First-Team honors and All-MIAC First Team honors for second straight year...finished 16-3 in 22 starts across 26 appearances....recorded a 1.69 earned run average and 1.01 WHIP with four shutouts and four saves...in 137 innings, allowed 33 earned runs with 145 strikeouts against 33 walks...teams hit just .216...ranked second in the MIAC in wins and earned run average...third in the MIAC in strikeouts, batting average allowed and innings...led the league with four saves...ranked in top five in DIII in saves and top 25 nationally in wins and top 50 in strikeouts.
2021: Earned NFCA Third Team All-American honors to become the second All-American in CSB softball history ... earned NFCA All-Midwest Region First Team honors and All-MIAC First Team honors ... set the school record for strikeouts in a season with 172 and wins in a season with 17 ... finished the season with a 0.96 ERA, including a 0.45 ERA in MIAC play ... finished 10th in the nation in ERA and 13th in strikeouts ... recorded a career-best 15 strikeouts in the first game of the season ... recorded double-digit strikeouts five times ... threw two five-inning no hitters ... finished fourth in Division III with nine shutouts ... threw 123.2 innings and 16 complete games in 22 appearances.
2020: Saw time on the mound in four games before the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID19 pandemic ... struck out a career-high 11 batters in a win over Wash U ... finished 3-0 with 21 strikeouts and a 2.71 ERA.
High School: Elly is a 2019 graduate of Tri-City United and participated in basketball for one year and softball for six years. She earned all-conference honorable mention softball honors in 2015-16, Tri-City United Rookie of the Year in 2015, all-conference and all-section from 2017-19 and all-state in 2018-19. She was named her team MVP in 2017 and 2019, Star Tribune Athlete of the Week and Minnesota-Scores.net Hardware Hank Nuts and Bolts Athlete of the Week in 2017, Team Captain in 2017-19 and was a member of the High School All-Star Series in 2019.
Personal: Elly is the daughter of Tami and Gary Novak and is majoring in Communications with a minor in Exercise and Health Science. She enjoys being with her family, umping youth softball, sports and hunting. She enjoys being a collegiate athlete, because she can balance softball, school, and a social life all at once.
