Rachel Nelson returns for her third year as an assistant coach in 2018.
Nelson brings knowledge of the program as an assistant coach as she played for the Blazers for four years from 2011-14. In that time, Nelson – a pitcher from Lindstrom, Minn. – earned All-MIAC once and All-MIAC Honorable Mention twice. She racked up 46 wins in 90 appearances in her four years, and finished with 341 strikeouts.
As a sophomore in 2012, Nelson finished with a 1.78 ERA in 130 innings pitched. In 2013, she was named to the MIAC All-Tournament Team and earned MIAC Pitcher of the Week honors on April 1.
Nelson, a 2010 graduate of Chisago Lakes High School, currently works as the lead concierge at Keystone Place.
