    Assistant Softball Coach
Mike Eveslage begins his fifth season as an assistant coach with the CSB softball team in 2020, and his fourth year with Saint Benedict athletics as the department's operations manager after joining the department full time in September 2016.

As the operations manager, Eveslage is in charge of all game day operations, including management and setup, and helps coordinate in-game promotions. He also helps coordinate all CSB summer camps and is in charge of the department's student employees.

As an assistant softball coach, Eveslage - who served as a volunteer assistant in 2016 - has helped the softball program to five straight 20-win seasons. After winning 21 games in his first season in 2016, the team won 27 games in 2017, set a school record with 36 wins in 2018 and won 27 games again in 2019. CSB made back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths in 2018 and 2019.

Prior to starting full time at Saint Benedict, Eveslage was an instructional technology specialist at Sartell Middle School in 2015-16. From 2012-14 he taught U.S. history and world geography at Eden Valley-Watkins, and he taught history, reading and general social studies at Paynesville Area School from 2007-12.

Eveslage has been involved in men's fastpitch softball since 1994 and has participated in men's state and national tournaments at various levels. He currently sits on the Minnesota state men's fastpitch committee as well as the Hall of Fame selection committee. He was the Royalton 18U coach in 2016, and served as the assistant coach for Paynesville and Eden Valley-Watkins from 2008-14.

Eveslage, who serves as the mayor of Freeport, Minn., is a Melrose High School graduate and earned his BA in Early 20th Century American History from the University of Minnesota in 2002. He is a licensed social studies teacher and holds his Master's degree from St. Scholastica. He lives in Freeport with his wife, Sherry, and their two children.
