Ashley Thell starts her fifth season as an assistant coach with the CSB softball program in 2023. In her first season with the team in 2019, CSB took fifth in the MIAC and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after picking up several big regional wins.
Thell is a 2017 MSU-Mankato graduate where she played second base for the 2017 NCAA Division II national champions. As a senior, she had 64 runs, which is the second-most in program history and was 10th in Division II that year. She earned All-NSIC Second Team honors and NFCA All-Central Region Second Team accolades. She earned NSIC All-Academic honors and earned a spot on the NSIC All-Tournament Team, and graduated second all-time at MSU in doubles (52), third in RBIs (152), fourth in runs scored (142) and sixth in stolen bases (56).
Thell - who also earned NSIC Second-Team honors as a junior - is a Foley High School graduate where she earned four varsity letters in softball and three in basketball. She batted an impressive .526 as a senior.Â
