Biography
2009: Unable to play this season because of offseason surgery … will continue to be a leader for the team.
2008: Played in all 32 games while making 31 starts … compiled 13 hits and 10 walks… recorded a .982 fielding percentage.
2007: Made 28 starts and 31 appearances as a first-year outfielder for Saint Benedict … collected five extra-base hits including a triple and one home run … drove in 14 runs and recorded 16 total hits … scored seven runs for the Blazers.
High School: A 2006 graduate of Bethlehem Academy High School, Hanson was coached by Scott Morrissey ... participated in volleyball (six years), basketball (five years), and softball (six years) during her athletic career at Bethlehem Academy ... was a three-sport letter winner ... two-time All-Gopher Conference selection in volleyball ... named to the All-Gopher Conference academic volleyball, basketball, and softball teams ... captained her volleyball team ... was an All-State volleyball team selection in 2005 ... named to the All-State Tournament team in 2005 ... named to the 2005 Pioneer Press All-State Second Team ... selected to the Academic All-State volleyball team in 2005 ... holds Bethlehem Academy’s record for most assists in a single season with 907 ... also holds her school’s basketball record for most career points with 1,577 and most career rebounds (789) ... holds several softball pitching and batting records for most strikeouts, ERA, innings pitched, home runs and hits ... three-time All-Gopher Conference selection in basketball ... four-time All-Gopher Conference softball team selection ... member of the Bethlehem Academy volleyball team that were four-time Gopher Conference Champions and State Champions in 2003 and 2005.
Personal: Daughter of Donna and Chris Hanson of Faribault, Minn. ... mother, brother, grandfather, uncles, aunts and cousins have attended CSB/SJU ...sports, spending time with family and friends, working with children, scrapbooking, shopping and being active... majoring in elementary education with a minor in coaching.
Proudest moment of her softball career: “Going from a 0-18 record my seventh grade year to becoming Gopher Conference Champions my senior year.”
What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? “I like how there is a balance between athletics and academics and I am able to be a two-sport athlete."
