2019: Played in five games as a first year ... had one hit in six at-bats and sent in one run.

High School: Schmitz is a 2018 graduate from New Prague High School. There she played softball for five years, basketball for four years, and tennis for two years. For softball, she received all-conference honorable mention (2016), all-conference (2017, 2018), all-section (2017, 2018), and all-state (2018). She received the Female Athlete of the Year and Tri-Athlete award in 2018. Schmitz also participated in Arctic Blast softball. Her proudest memories from softball are winning the section tournament and getting to play in the state tournament both her eighth-grade and sophomore years.
 
Personal: Emily is the daughter of Brad and Nicole Schmitz. She has two brothers, Matt and Ben. Her hobbies are softball, basketball and tennis. She is looking to major in either nursing or biology. Emily enjoys being a student-athlete because it allows her to play the sport she loves and looks forward to being apart of the team.
