Peterson secured the weekly conference award behind a standout performance in a 9–0, run-rule victory over Bethany Lutheran, where she fired her 12th career shutout. The senior was efficient and in control throughout, allowing just three hits while striking out five on only 57 pitches across five innings.

The recognition marks Peterson's second career MIAC Pitcher of the Week honor, with her first coming on April 24, 2023. A three-time All-MIAC selection, she is also the second Saint Benedict student-athlete to earn MIAC weekly honors this season, joining Olivia Tautges, who was recognized twice earlier this year. With Peterson's selection, the Bennies have now collected three MIAC honors this season and 49 in program history, including 21 Pitcher of the Week awards.

Beyond the accolade, Peterson's performance continues to elevate her standing in the program record books. She now owns 44 career wins (fifth all-time), 12 shutouts (fourth), 42 complete games (seventh), and 410 innings pitched (fifth). Peterson's 68 career starts are tied for the most in program history, matching Rachel Nelson (2011-14). On the season, she is now 4-5 with a 3.08 ERA and six complete games across eight starts.

Peterson and the Bennies (10–8) will open MIAC play Wednesday, April 1, when they host Bethel at the CSB Softball Field.
