ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After a strong season debut and a short break, the College of Saint Benedict cross country team is set to return to action at the 54th annual St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 20 in Northfield, Minn.
The 6K race begins at 11 a.m. on the St. Olaf Championship Course, a rolling, grass-and-trail layout that winds behind the Tostrud Center. The meet marks the second race of the season for CSB — and a chance to test their endurance on a longer course after an explosive 5K opener. Following this competition, CSB will compete at the Blugold Invitational on Friday, Oct. 3 at the Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wis.
CSB wins Toni St. Pierre to open season
CSB opened its 2025 campaign with a team victory at the Toni St. Pierre Invitational, putting seven runners in the top 15 at Golden Oaks Golf Club and holding off a strong field led by UW-Stout. The Bennies scored 41 points, edging UW-Stout (53) and Northwestern-St. Paul (62). CSB's top three runners all placed in the top 10, showing early-season depth and cohesion.

A huge season debut for the senior leader, nearly cracking the program's top 15 list and pacing the team with confidence. She was named The House/St. Cloud Orthopedics CSB Athlete of the Week after her outstanding effort.
Daphne Grobstein (Fy.)
- 5th place overall
- 19:22.2 (Ties 32nd in CSB history)
In just her first collegiate race, Grobstein posted one of the top freshman debuts in program history.
Julia Babineau (So.)
- 10th place overall
- 20:04.6
Sophomore stride — Babineau followed up her rookie year with a composed, top-10 finish to anchor the scoring pack.
