ST. JOSEPH, Minn. — With momentum from three wins in their past four outings, the College of Saint Benedict hockey team heads to Illinois this weekend for a nonconference matchup with Lake Forest. The Bennies (3–2 overall) will face the Foresters (6–2) at 11 a.m., on both days at the Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse in Lake Forest.

CSB enters the trip after splitting a weekend series with St. Olaf. The Bennies earned a 1–0 shutout at home behind first-year goaltender Lexi Badali, who recorded her first collegiate shutout and secured the win on Emily Wendorf's goal. Saint Benedict then fell, 5–1, in the rematch on the road, moving to 3–1 in MIAC play.

The weekend followed a strong start to conference action, where CSB swept St. Scholastica, 5–3 and 2–1. Senior forward Mia Lopez powered that series with two goals and two assists, while Badali collected wins in both contests. After the road trip, CSB plays a home-and-home MIAC series with Bethel, starting in St. Paul at 7 p.m., on Dec. 5. Then, CSB hosts the Royals at 6 p.m., on Dec. 6, at Ritsche Arena.

Scouting the Foresters
Lake Forest began the season with a six-game win streak before dropping two straight to Concordia–Wisconsin. Under second-year head coach and alumna Amy Budde, the Foresters average 2.6 goals per game while holding opponents to just 1.1. They move the puck well — already tallying 37 assists — and generate more than 30 shots per game.

Jasmine Kohl leads the Foresters with eight points (3 goals, 5 assists), followed by Victoria Liu (1 goal, 7 assists) and Alex Luke, who has a team-high four goals.

Series Snapshot
The Bennies and Foresters are deadlocked 2–2 in their all-time series. Saint Benedict won both meetings last January at Ritsche Arena, earning 4–0 and 1–0 victories. Lake Forest claimed the first two matchups back in the 2001–02 season.

Inside the Bennies
Under head coach Lindsay Macy, CSB is averaging 2.0 goals per game and allowing 3.2. The Bennies generate more than 26 shots per outing and have scored twice on the power play while adding a shorthanded tally. They have won 43.8 percent of their faceoffs.

Sophomore Merrill Delich leads Saint Benedict with four points (1 goal, 3 assists), while Lopez has contributed three (2 goals, 1 assist). Seven other Bennies have found the net at least once this season.

Badali's early impact has been a key storyline — she holds a 3–1–0 record with a .925 save percentage and 2.03 goals-against average, already totaling 98 saves and one shutout. CSB goalies have combined for 117 saves overall.
