ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – On a two-game win streak, the College of Saint Benedict hockey team (2–1, 2–0 MIAC) continues MIAC play this weekend with a home-and-home series against St. Olaf (2–4, 1–1 MIAC) on Nov. 21–22.
CSB hosts the Oles at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Ritsche Arena in St. Cloud before heading to Northfield for the 6 p.m. rematch on Saturday, Nov. 22. The Bennies enter the weekend tied for first in the MIAC with Augsburg, Hamline, and St. Catherine.
Bennies Sweep St. Scholastica
Saint Benedict opened conference play in impressive fashion, earning 5–3 and 2–1 victories over St. Scholastica. Senior forward
Mia Lopez (Plymouth, Minn.) fueled the offense with two goals and two assists across the series, while first-year goaltender
Lexi Badali (St. John, Ind.) picked up wins in both games.
Scouting St. Olaf
Under head coach Tracy Johnson, St. Olaf is 2–4 overall and 1–1 in MIAC play. The Oles are coming off a split with Gustavus Adolphus, earning a 3–2 overtime win at home and a 2–1 overtime win on the road. Solvie Berg-Messerole leads the Ole attack with four goals, three assists, and a team-high 23 shots. Three other skaters have scored once this season. As a team, St. Olaf averages 1.7 goals and 26.7 shots per game. Goaltender Baylyn Shankman anchors the defense with a standout .943 save percentage.
Series History
St. Olaf holds a 26–21–5 lead in the all-time series. The teams last met on Nov. 23, 2024, skating to a 2–2 tie before CSB secured a 1–0 shootout win. The Bennies won the inaugural meeting between the programs, 6–1, on Feb. 16, 2001. CSB is 11–11–3 at home against the Oles and 10–15–1 in Northfield.

Badali has made a strong collegiate debut, winning her first two starts while allowing just 2.0 goals per game and posting a .940 save percentage. As a team, CSB is averaging 2.7 goals on 26 shots per game.
