Bennies set to face Auggies at 7 p.m., at Claire Lynch Hall in MIAC quarterfinals

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. -- The College of Saint Benedict hockey team (0-2-0) will host UW-Superior (3-2-0) in the Bennies' home opener at Ritsche Arena on Nov. 12 at 6 p.m.

After the matchup on Tuesday, the Bennies will open MIAC player at the College of St. Scholastica at 3:30 p.m., on Friday before a return date against the Saints at 6 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Ritsche Arena, in the Bennies' home MIAC opener.

 CSB, directed by third year head coach Lindsay Macy, opened the season with a loss to No. 1 and defending national DIII champion UW-River Falls (1-0), 8-2 in River Falls, Wis. Then CSB took a 5-4 road loss to UW-Superior on Nov. 5 as first-year Camryn Hargreaves had two goals.

Through two games, the Bennies, which finished 11-12-2 a year ago, have totaled six goals and allowed 13. The Bennies have been outshot 26.5 to 18.5. In goal, CSB has 10 saves, with opponents having 24. In power plays, CSB has had a 50% power play rate while their opponents are 16%. CSB has won 32 faceoffs and lost 28 for a 53.3 percent win rate.

UW-Superior Notes
In her first season as head coach, Bre Simon leads the UW-Superior Yellowjackets to a 3-2-0 record this season. The Yellowjackets went 2-1 last week, dropping a 3-1 game against Lake Forest and recording an 8-5 win over Lake Forest and 5-4 victory against CSB. On offense, they are led by Kaylin Garner with four goals, one assist, and eleven shots on goal. Senior forward Jenna Hoops leads the team with three assists and two goals for a total of 5 points. In net, senior Anna Maulson own a .889 save percentage for a total of 96 saves this season.

Series Notes
When CSB meets UW-Superior on Tuesday evening, the teams will play for the 20th time. CSB has an overall record of 5-14 against UW-Superior. CSB has a 2-7 away record when playing the Yellowjackets. In their last meeting on Nov. 5, the Bennies dropped a 5-4 decision at Superior, Wis.

CSB Inside Info
Senior forward Ava Stinnett scored a power play goal against UW-River Falls. Stinnett, who has played in 76 career games, has 26 goals, 24 assists, and 226 shots on goal. First year, Camryn Hargreaves, leads the team with two goals, both of which she scored against UW-River Falls. The Bennies also have goals from Jamie Bimberg, Chloe Lewis, and Jorja Jusczak. First-year Skylar Salscheider has two assists and as does Emily Wendorf. In goal for CSB, junior Ellynor Haack has 18 saves and a .900 save percentage in 40 minutes on the ice. Senior Kate Moffat has a .690 save percentage on 20 saves this season.
