WAVERLY, Iowa – Due to a winter snow storm in Waverly, Iowa, the nonconference softball doubleheader between No. 14 College of Saint Benedict and Wartburg on Sunday (March 26), has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
CSB is scheduled to open the MIAC season against St. Olaf at home (CSB Softball Field) at 1/3 p.m., on April 1. Already this spring, inclement weather conditions has postponed a March 19 doubleheader against Buena Vista and canceled four games this weekend scheduled at Coe College (March 25) and Wartburg (March 26). CSB, which has opened the season with a 9-1 record, has been ranked No. 14 by the
NFCA for the second straight week. Through 10 games, the Bennies have a team earned run average of 1.78 (2
nd,
MIAC) with a .96 WHIP, 66 strikeouts, and opponents are hitting just .205 (1
st,
MIAC). On offense, the Bennies have a .293 average, five home runs, 13 doubles, 80 hits, .403 slugging and .374 on-base percentage. In addition, the Bennies have a .985 fielding percentage which leads the MIAC.
