Live Stats/Video Friday | Live Stats/Video Saturday

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict hockey team will finally play in its first weekend series since December after battling numerous game cancellations. The Bennies play a home and home conference series against St. Kate's, beginning with a Friday game at home at 7 p.m. at the MAC in St. Cloud and finishing on the road Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Paul.

Per MIAC and CSB policy, fans must be masked at all times. Spectator capacity will be capped at 70 percent or 280 fans. All spectators are encouraged to sit in pods with the people they came to the game with, and to distance themselves from other pods. Concessions will not be available and outside food and beverages are not permitted in the MAC. Fans exhibiting symptoms of COVID or who are generally feeling unwell are asked to please stay home. Live stats and video are available here

About the Wildcats

The Wildcats are 5-10-1 overall, 1-7 in conference play this season as they head into their conference series against CSB. They are coming off a series loss against Augsburg, which they lost 3-2 in overtime in game one and 7-2 in game two. Sophia Gorski leads the team in scoring with seven goals.

Last Meeting

The Bennies and the Wildcats met just two weeks ago in a single nonconference match up when both teams' series were canceled due to COVID protocols. The Wildcats took the 2-0 lead in the first two periods, but the Bennies came back and scored three in the third period and sophomore Addy Hackley scored the game-winner in overtime to lift her team to the 4-3 win at home.

The Storyline

The CSB hockey team (6-7 overall, 2-4 MIAC) is looking to gain some big conference points this weekend now that they have the opportunity to play a full series. The Bennies picked up a huge 3-2 nonconference win over a current second place Hamline squad Wednesday night and they hope to use that momentum heading into the weekend.

Who to Watch

First year Ava Stinnett added another goal to her stat line against Hamline on Wednesday, scoring the game winner and her 10th point of the season. Goalie Kate Moffatt got her second win in as many starts, stopping 24 of 26 shots against Hamline. Moffatt now boasts a 1.50 goals-against average with 42 saves and a .933 save percentage.
