ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After wrapping up her collegiate golf career earlier this month at the 2020-21 MIAC Championships, senior
Emily Olson headlined the College of Saint Benedict golf team awards, bringing home team MVP honors.
Other team honorees for 2020-21 included sophomore
Molly Herker as the team's Most Improved golfer and senior
Bridget Amundson, who earned the Coach's Award.
Olson wrapped up her four-year Bennie golf career with three tournaments this spring, including her fourth and final appearance at the MIAC Championships. She finished the seven rounds with a season scoring average of 82.4, and wraps up her career with an average of 82.8 – good for third-best in program history.
Olson shot a season-low 77 in the first round of the Battle at the Creek, and finished in the top 20 at both the Battle at the Creek and the St. Olaf/Carleton Invite. She tied for 26
th at the MIAC Championships, and wraps up her career with an All-MIAC honor and an All-MIAC Honorable Mention honor after one top-10 finish and one top-15 finish.
After competing in just one tournament as a first year, Herker competed in two – including the MIAC Championships – as a sophomore. She shot a career-best 90 in the third and final round of the conference meet, and finished the shortened season with a scoring average of 95.2.
Amundson also competed in three tournaments to wrap up her CSB golf career. She shot a season-best 77 in the first round of the conference meet, where she finished tied for 23
rd. Amundson tied for fifth at the conference meet as a first year, and finished in the top 20 each of the next two seasons.
Olson and Amundson both graduated this month, but Herker returns to the team in 2021-22 along with rising senior
Grace Hillemeier and rising sophomores
Emily Renner – who earned All-MIAC honors as a first year – and
Hayden Boelter.
