ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict softball returns home Saturday, April 24, for another key MIAC matchup when St. Kate's come to town. St. Kate's and St. Olaf are currently tied for first in the MIAC standings, so the Bennies look to use home-field advantage Saturday to take a game or two from the Wildcats.

After hosting St. Kate's in a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday, CSB hits the road Sunday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Macalester. Per Macalester campus policy no fans are allowed, but live stats and video will be available. Fans are welcome at the team's home game Saturday, and live stats and video are available here.

ABOUT THE WILDCATS
St. Kate's heads to St. Joe riding an 11-game winning streak dating back to an April 3 split with Bethel. The Wildcats beat Bethel in five innings in the second game, and have swept their last five MIAC opponents. Angela Huepfel has been impressive at the plate and leads the MIAC in batting average (.532), hits (41) and RBIs (42), and also has a league-best 10 home runs.

ABOUT THE SCOTS
After a big MIAC win over St. Thomas and a pair of conference sweeps, Macalester has lots its last four games and looks to snap that streak heading into the weekend. The Scots – who take on Gustavus Saturday – beat the Tommies 4-2 thanks to an impressive performance on the mound from Joia Simonson. Audrey Meade leads the team with a .429 batting average and Jessica Katzin has 15 hits and 10 RBIs to pace the team.

LAST MEETING
CSB and the Wildcats split a split doubleheader in 2019 in St. Joe. The Bennies won the first game 13-4 on March 31, and the second game was postponed due to snowy conditions and cold temperatures. The Wildcats came back to St. Joe on April 9 and won 8-2. Mo Burns went 5-for-5 with seven RBIs in the March win.

CSB and the Scots split a MIAC doubleheader in 2019 in St. Joseph. The Scots won the first game 4-3, and the Bennies came back to win the second game 4-1. Lauren York gave up just two hits and one run to earn the win and Mo Burns and Sheridan Glashan both had a pair of hits.
THE STORYLINE
With four doubleheaders left in the regular season and a foursome of teams vying for the top spot in the MIAC, every game is a big game for the Bennies from here on out. The team's pitchers have been impressive all season, so CSB needs to make sure its offense stays hot and keeps scoring runs against one of the top teams in the league.

WHO TO WATCH:
Elly Novak and Lauren York were almost unhittable Wednesday in a sweep of Augsburg. Novak threw her second-ever - and second straight - no hitter in the first game, and York threw her first complete-game shutout - a two-hitter - in the second game. The Bennies' offense also exploded for 28 hits, including home runs from Jordyn Swoboda and Tori Harren.
