The College of St. Benedict recently announced its team award winners for the 2018-19 season. Sophomore
Megan Thompson was awarded MVP, Most Improved was awarded to sophomore
Shae Olsen and sophomore
Maddie Schmitz was given the Coaches Award.

Thompson earned All-MIAC First-Team honors this year for the first time, while also leading the team and finishing 12
th in the MIAC for scoring by averaging 13.1 points per game. She also led the team and was 15
th in the MIAC for both assists and rebounds, with 70 and 58, respectively.

In 20 of her 26 games, Thompson scored in double digits and scored a career-high of 27 points in a game against St. Olaf on Jan. 27.

Olsen played in all 26 games for the 2018-19 season and averaged 3.8 points per game and 2.7 rebounds per game. She had a career-high 12 points on Feb. 19 against Gustavus, and pulled down seven rebounds in January at Saint Mary's.

Schmitz also earned her first MIAC honor this year by placing in the top 20 in the MIAC for scoring, and by placing second on the team, with an average of 12.2 points per game. Schmitz also had an average of 6.2 rebounds per game and blocked 25 shots. Her career high for scoring came against Concordia when she scored 25 points in the team's overtime win on the road.

CSB finished the 2018-19 season 15-11 overall and 11-7 and tied for fourth in the MIAC. The team hosted a conference tournament game for the second straight season.
