CSB hockey wraps up 2018-19 against Gusties

| By:
ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After a pair of losses in last weekend's series with conference rival University of Saint Thomas, the College of Saint Benedict hockey team gets back in action this weekend with two games. CSB wraps up the 2018-19 season against Gustavus Adolphus College Friday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. in St. Peter and Feb. 9 at 2:30 p.m. in St. Cloud.

About the Gusties
Gustavus has a record of 13-5-5 overall and a MIAC record of 9-3-4. The Gusties are entering the series after sweeping Concordia last weekend. Allie Stanger is fifth in the MIAC with 12 goals. Amelia Vosen has 10 goals and Kristina Press has eight assists. In goal, Amanda DeNella leads the conference with 458 saves, is second with a .933 save percentage, and is third with a 1.51 goals-against average.

Last Meeting
Gustavus swept Saint Benedict last season's series, winning 3-1 in St. Cloud and 7-1 in St. Peter. Kailee Medved made 44 saves in the first game and Julia Carle and Medved combined for 45 saves the next day. Courtney Conlin and Rylan Bistodeau both scored once.

The Storyline
After 3-0 and 2-1 losses against top-ranked St. Thomas last weekend, CSB looks to get a pair of conference wins in the final two games of the season. CSB is seventh in the league and Gustavus is tied for third currently, and Saint Benedict is mathematically eliminated from the post season. The team is looking to pick up at least one more win to wrap up its season, as eight wins would be the most for the program since 2008-09. This marks the fourth time the team has won seven games since then, with the last being 2015-16.

Who to Watch:
Conlin scored her eight goal last weekend, the lone goal for CSB, and leads the team with 14 points, followed by Julia Pias with 12. Pias has seven goals, and a total of 12 CSB skaters have scored this season. Maddie Dockry recorded her team-high seventh assist last weekend against St. Thomas. Mollie Wise leads the team with 59 shots and Zoe Culshaw-Klien leads CSB with 27 blocked shots. Kailee Medved, Julia Carle, and Maggie Gilchrist have all seen time in net for CSB. The three have combined for 601 saves, a .916 save percentage, and 2.60 goals against. This will be the final series for six CSB seniors: Carle, Jessica Malloy, Mariah Reed, Kylie Eklund, Dockry, and Shelby Schneider.
