CSB looks to stay in win column against St. Kate's

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After splitting last weekend's series with conference opponent Concordia, the College of Saint Benedict hockey team gets back in action this weekend with two games. CSB plays St. Catherine University Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in St. Paul and Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m. in St. Cloud.
 
About the Wildcats
St. Kate's started the season 4-11-2 overall and 2-6-1 and is currently sitting ninth in the MIAC. The Wildcats lost their last game 1-0 to Saint Mary's on Jan. 19, and tied 2-2 the day prior. Brede Postier and Emilee Anderson lead the team with seven goals each, and are two of 10 goal scorers for the Wildcats. Lexi Muller leads the team with nine assists. Elizabeth Kubicek leads the team in net with 189 saves and a .909 save percentage in nine games played.
 
Last Meeting
St. Kate's swept Saint Benedict last season, winning 4-2 in St. Cloud and 3-1 in St. Paul in the series. Julia Carle made 27 saves in the first game and Kailee Medved made 31 saves the next day. Mollie Wise and Courtney Conlin scored in the first game of the weekend and Bridgette Miller had a pair of assists.
 
The Storyline
After a 3-2 loss and 2-1 win against Concordia last weekend, CSB looks to get a pair of conference wins. CSB is seventh in the league with St. Kate's in ninth currently, but Saint Benedict looks to move up in the conference standings with eight games remaining. Saint Benedict returns to the MAC for a home game on Feb. 1 against Augsburg.
 
Who to Watch:
Julia Pias scored twice last weekend, and leads CSB with seven goals. Annika Brodt had two assists against Concordia to bring her assist total to seven this season. Courtney Conlin leads the team with 12 points. Kailee Medved, Julia Carle, and Maggie Gilchrist have all seen time in net for CSB. The three have combined for a 380 saves, a .9107save percentage, and 2.58 goals against.
