ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After taking a two-week holiday break, the College of Saint Benedict hockey team gets back in action this weekend with a pair of games at Saint Mary's. The two teams play at 7 p.m. Friday in Winona, then again at 2 p.m. Saturday in Winona.
About the Cardinals
Saint Mary's has started the season 2-5 overall and 0-4 in the MIAC. The Cardinals did drop a one-goal game to No. 9 St. Thomas on Nov. 9, and also fell 3-2 to league-leading Augsburg on Nov. 16. Sophia Zebro leads the team with three goals, and Courtney Moser leads the team with five assists. Jordan Keeley leads the team in net with 97 saves.
Last Meeting
Saint Mary's beat CSB by a score of 6-2 in the first game between the two teams last season, and CSB played to a 2-1 overtime loss in the second game.
Brigette Miller scored twice for CSB in the first game and
Julia Carle had 28 saves.
Shelby Schneider scored for CSB in the second game, and
Kailee Medved had 29 saves.
The Storyline
After a 2-1 victory and 1-1 tie against St. Olaf on Nov. 16 and 17, CSB looks to get its second and third MIAC wins of the season, while the Cardinals look to get their first. Both teams look to gain some momentum as the MIAC season gets going. CSB does not return to the MAC for a home game until Jan. 12. This weekend's series marks the final games of 2018 for Saint Benedict, which returns to action with a pair of games in Stevens Point, Wis., Jan. 4-5, 2019.

Julia Pias scored once in each of the team's games against the Oles, making eight different goal scorers for CSB thus far.

Kailee Medved has 114 saves, a .927 save percentage, and is allowing 2.11 goals against in five games in net. Medved is seventh in the league in saves.
