ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict softball team continues its MIAC season this week with a doubleheader at Carleton. On Wednesday, CSB travels to Northfield for a doubleheader against the Knights starting at 3:30 p.m.
 
About the Knights:
The Carleton College Knights come into Wednesday's matchup against the Blazers after starting the season 9-7 overall and 2-2 in the MIAC. The Knights look to build on a two-game winning streak after sweeping a doubleheader at Concordia on Sunday afternoon. Anna Lauko is fifth in the MIAC with a .471 batting average and leads the team with 18 runs scored. Natalie Maurice leads the team with 20 RBIs and has a .431 batting average. Sam Kile is second in the MIAC with 87 strike outs and a 1.78 ERA in 63 innings pitched.
 
Who to Watch:
Sara Wennerstrand and Megan Toninato will be looking to stay hot at the plate leading the team with identical .431 batting averages. Wennerstrand has a .631 slugging percentage, and is second in the MIAC with three home runs. Toninato also leads the team with a .500 on-base percentage. Emilie Antony is first in the MIAC with 25 RBIs and has a .631 slugging percentage. Kate Deming is third in the MIAC with 18 stolen bases and leads the team with 30 runs scored. Kiela DeVlaeminck leads the pitchers with a 2.89 ERA, a record of 5-1, 43.2 innings pitched and 42 strikeouts.
 
Last Time Out:
Last weekend, the Blazers played two double headers against Concordia College and Saint Mary's. On Saturday, CSB defeated Concordia 11-3 in six innings and 20-2 in five innings. On Sunday, the Blazers beat Saint Mary's 8-2 and 4-1. The Blazers racked up 46 hits on the weekend. Karlee Pfaff had a pair of two-run homers against the Cobbers, and Claire Boatman and Kendra Swanson each had home runs against the Cardinals.
 
The Storyline:
The Blazers look to improve their 15-5 record as they continue their conference season, carried by an offense that averages 7.9 runs per game. After not making the playoffs last year, the Blazers look to stay undefeated in the MIAC season with hopes of improving on a 10-12 conference record.
