About Concordia
The Cobbers are 1-0-1 this season. They will be coming into this weekend off of a two-game series with UW-Stevens Point last weekend's home opener. Concordia had an overall record of 14-12-1, and went 11-7 in the MIAC in 2015-16. Jess Nelson leads the team with two goals.
Last Year
Concordia beat CSB twice last season on Nov. 13-14 in Moorhead. The Blazers lost Fridays game 5-0 and Saturdays game 3-0. CSB could not find the back of the net, and were outshot 27-33 and 29-31.
Who to Watch
Senior
Elli Marvin and junior
Brigette Miller are back after finishing the year with a team-high 16 points. Marvin finished sixth in the league with 11 goals, and Miller led the team with seven assists. Back in net for CSB this season is sophomore
Angel Hillstrom, who ended her first year with the school record for save percentage in a season at .929. She went 6-8-2 in net and recorded 522 saves, and played more than 1,000 minutes. Marvin has four goals and two assists in two games played this season.
The Storyline
CSB enters this season looking to improve on its 5-10-3 MIAC finish from 2015-16, and missed out on the conference tournament. Saint Benedict was picked to finish eighth again this season in the MIAC preseason poll. The Blazers are coming off two home wins against Northland College on Oct. 28-29. After scoring 14 goals against Northland, the Blazers look to keep scoring against a Concordia team that shut out the Blazers twice last year.
