Blazer basketball takes on Concordia Wednesday

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict basketball team heads to Moorhead, Minn., to try and get back in the wins column Wednesday night when it takes on Concordia at 5:45 p.m. The Blazers fell short to Saint Thomas last weekend and are now sitting with an overall record of 8-9. They are also 5-5 in conference play.
 
About the Cobbers: The Cobbers are sitting with a record of 10-7 as they head into this matchup. After two straight conference wins in their last two outings, the Cobbers improved their conference record to 6-4. They also walked away with a 71-60 win over the Blazers early in the season.
 
Last Year: The Cobbers took wins in both of their matchups against the Blazers last year. In the first game of the year, the Cobbers took a 69-63 win. After a 32-27 Blazers lead at halftime, the Cobbers came back late in the end of the game to take the win. The Cobbers took a 70-56 win in the second game as Mattie Lueck led the Blazers with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
 
The Storyline: As both teams are heading into their final eight conference games, they will be looking to gain momentum through conference wins. CSB was down 40-19 at halftime, but the Blazers scored 38 points in the second half as the Tommies scored 40. Mattie Lueck led the Blazers with 17 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.
