ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After defeating Macalester on the road by a score of 73-65, the College of Saint Benedict basketball team returns home Saturday, Jan. 24 to face off against St. Thomas. This game starts at 3 p.m. in Claire Lynch Hall.
 
About the Tommies: The Tommies are currently sitting at No. 5 in the country and remain unbeaten in regular-season play. With a 16-0 record, the Tommies have also gone 9-0 in conference play. They will be looking to continue building up their momentum as they head into their final eight conference games.
 
Last Year: St. Thomas won the first meeting between the two teams this season 75-58 in St. Paul. In their two matchups last year, the Tommies took wins in both. In their first matchup of the season the Blazers fell short by a score of 60-36. Mattie Lueck led the team with 16 points and three blocks. In the Blazers' final game of the season, the Tommies took the win by a score of 69-52. In this game, Lueck finished with seven points and six rebounds. Sydney Hughes also led the defense with 11 rebounds and added six points.
 
The Storyline: The Blazers currently sit with a record of 8-8 and are 5-4 in conference play. They will be looking for another conference win as they get close to the post-season. The Tommies will also be looking to climb the national rankings in their final games of the season.
 
Who to Watch: Mattie Lueck is leading the Blazers with 13.2 points per game and 6.9 overall rebounds. Abby Miller also adds 9.3 points per game and leads the team with a .853 free throw percentage. Emily Lueck is averaging 7.6 points per game and 2.4 assists.
 
Last Time Out: In their last time out, the Blazers took their eighth win of the season over Macalester by a score of 73-65. The Blazers led 32-30 at halftime, but Macalester grabbed a 15-point lead early in the second half before CSB mounted its comeback. Kate Banovetz led the Blazers with 27 points and also finished the game with 13 rebounds. Abby Miller also racked up 11 points.
