(South St. Paul, Minn.) surrendered just a pair of first inning runs, but unfortunately it was all the Gusties would need.

Gustavus (24-13) starter Hannah Heacox threw a no-hitter while striking out 10 to hold the Blazers off the board. It marks the first time this season the Blazers have been held hitless in a game.

The Blazers best threat came in the top of the first when a leadoff walk by Kim Lidstone (Minnetonka, Minn.) eventually led her to third with two outs. But the first of Heacox' 10 strikeouts would end the inning and the threat.

The Blazers drew six walks in the game, but were never able to get another runner into scoring position.

Engelmeier settled down after the first and allowed just four hits over the final five innings, but suffered just her second loss of the year.

On into the consolation round the Blazers met up with Bethel, which fell in its opening game 11-0 to St. Thomas.

The Royals (24-17) struck first with a run in the second and led 3-0 after the top of the third.

The Blazer offense would open up for four runs from the third through the fifth, but the powerful Royals were up to the task, adding eight over that same stretch.

Rachel Nelson (Lindstrom, Minn.) took the loss, falling to 12-9 on the season and finished the year with 112 strikeouts, the second best single season total in program history.

Also in game two, Lexi Alm (Stacy, Minn.) belted her ninth homerun of the season, breaking her own school record of eight which she set in 2012.

Stacy Svihel (Cold Spring, Minn.) and Kelsey McQuillan (Stillwater, Minn.) each led the offense with two hits on the day, while Alm scored twice and Maddie Lenkder (Edne Prairire, Minn.) drove in two.

Bethel ends the Blazers' season for the second straight year, also knocking them out of the playoffs last season.
