(South St. Paul, Minn.) went the distance for the game one win, notching her 13th victory of the year. After a rough sixth inning, she allowed just one runner to reach base in the seventh and eighth, while her offense backed her up for the win.

In the bottom of the eighth Stacy Svihel (Cold Spring, Minn.) stepped to the plate with two outs and no one on, but her single was the first of three straight as CSB (22-9, 9-7 MIAC) rallied for the win. Two batters later Kelsey McQuillan (Stillwater, Minn.) singled Svihel home for the eight-inning walk-off win.

The Blazers jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first and never trailed in the game, leading by as much as 8-1 after a three-run third. But the Royals (20-13, 11-5 MIAC) chipped away, scoring seven runs over the fourth, fifth and sixth.

In game two, the Blazers again jumped out to a first inning lead, going up 4-1 after the first. They were up 7-3 after the fourth, but a nine-run fifth inning from the Royals put them in charge for good.

The Blazers had their two best hitting performances of the year today, knocking out 19 and 18 hits respectively in the two games, while also smashing three home-runs – the most in a conference doubleheader this season.

Two of those home runs came from Mackenzie Wenner (St. Peter, Minn.), while Lexi Alm (Stacy, Minn.) added the other and led the offense with six hits. Melissa Seldon (Rosemount, Minn.), Kim Lidstone (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Svihel all added five hits on the day.

The Blazers started the day two games out of the final playoff spot, but are now just one game behind fourth place Hamline with six games remaining.

CSB returns to action tomorrow on the road, playing a 1 p.m. doubleheader at St. Olaf. They then return home for Senior Day on Sunday (Apr. 27), hosting St. Catherine at 1 p.m.
