The College of Saint Benedict (4-6 overall) softball team dropped a pair of games Friday at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida. The Blazers lost the opener to St. Norbert College 11-2 and fell 1-0 in eight innings to Montclair State University.
In the opener, St. Norbert scored eight runs in the first three innings to take a commanding lead. Senior
Carissa Hancock (Grand Rapids, MN, Grand Rapids) and junior
Sierra Dooley (Spring Lake Park, MN, Spring Lake Park) both collected RBI doubles in the game for CSB.
For the second day in a row, the Blazers found themselves in an extra inning game against Montclair State. Junior
Emma Alwin (Plymouth, MN, Wayzata) pitched a strong game for CSB, going seven and a third innings and only allowing five hits. The Blazer offense collected six hits including two apiece from senior
Devin Bowlin (Winona, MN, Winona Cotter) and junior
Lis Wieneke (New Ulm, MN, New Ulm).
CSB will play its final two games tomorrow afternoon against Simpson College and Anderson University.
