Amy Stifter (Watertown, MN, Watertown-Mayer) scored her 1,000th career point this evening as the College of Saint Benedict basketball team (11-1 overall, 8-1 MIAC) defeated Gustavus Adolphus 79-62 in St. Peter, MN.
The Blazers started the game on fire, with a 19-9 lead in the first six minutes of play. Over the next five minutes, the Gusties were able to gain a little ground, coming within seven points at 23-16. CSB continued the offensive pressure, coming up with an 11-7 run to lead 34-23 with 2:30 left in play. Gustavus didn't let up, closing the gap to five points with a 36-31 halftime score.
CSB started some momentum at the start of the second half, coming up with a 19-6 run in the first six minutes of play to lead 57-37. Gustavus couldn't bring the Blazers' lead into single digits for the remainder of the game. Six three-pointers off of 12 attempts over the course of the second half helped CSB stay ahead, eventually coming up with a 79-62 win. This is the Blazers' seventh consecutive win.

Morgan Dale (Jamestown, ND, Jamestown) added 12 points and five rebounds.
