The CSB softball team finished their trip to Florida on a high note by defeating Husson University 11-7 and Wittenberg University 3-1.  The Blazers (4-8 overall, 0-0 MIAC) showed improvement in each game at the Rebel Spring Games and will head into the MIAC season on a three game winning streak.

In the win over Husson, the Blazers got contributions from a number of players, led by sophomore Alyssa Kubesh (Buffalo Lake, MN, Buffalo Lake-Hector), who went 2-for-5 at the plate with two doubles.  First-year pitcher Katie Ergen (St. Cloud, MN, St. Cloud Technical) picked up her first collegiate win on the mound for the Blazers.

Against Wittenberg, Kristen Herges (Rochester, MN, John Marshall) led the CSB offensive attack by going 1-for-2 with a double, run scored, and an RBI.  Sophomore Laura Althoff (Jordan, MN, Jordan) was the winning pitcher for the Blazers.

The next contest for CSB will be the MIAC opener against Augsburg.  The Blazers host the Auggies in a doubleheader on March 28th starting at 1 pm
