The College of Saint Benedict swimming and diving team fell to Carleton College on Saturday January 17th at Saint John's. The Blazers had a total of 111 points versus Carleton's score of 189.
CSB continued to capture season and lifetime best times at today's meet. The past few weeks have been very busy with multiple meets. “I'm proud of the way we are training and the way we are swimming right now. I know the women are tired, but they showed a lot of heart these past two weeks and we are going to finish strong,” coach Adam Hainlin said.

Elise Genereux (Mound, MN, Watertown-Mayer) and senior divers
Stephanie Johnson (Chaska, MN, Chaska) and
Serina Aubrecht (Shorewood, MN, Minnetonka) received their season best scores on both boards. S. Johnson made the National Cut on the one meter board. Sophomore
Katie Lambert (Broomfield, CO, Holy Family) captured second in the mile with a time of 19:37.17 minutes, Lambert is ranked in the top eight of the MIAC. In the 200 freestyle senior
Kelly Matzen (Eden Prairie, MN, Eden Prairie) and first-year
Carolyn Triggs (Edina, MN, Edina) swam season best times of 2:00.67 minutes and 2:03.09 minutes, respectively. Matzen also captured first in the 100 freestyle. Junior
Lindsey Holm (Inver Grove Heights, MN, Simley) got a lifetime best in the 100 breaststroke. Senior
Brooke Johnson (St. Cloud, MN, St. Cloud Technical) won the 50 freestyle and the 200 breaststroke with season best times. Junior
Abbey Brau (Eden Prairie, MN, Eden Prairie) and sophomore
Megan Peterson (Elk River, MN, Elk River) took second and third in the 500 freestyle. First-year
Katie Spitzmueller (St. Paul, MN, Cretin-Derham Hall)placed third in the 100 butterfly.
The Blazers have the next weekend off and will compete next on Saturday, January 31st at Macalester in Saint Paul.
