College of Saint Benedict

Mike Smith enters his first season with the Saint Benedict softball staff in 2015 and will be working primarily with the pitchers.  After 26 years as a mechanical engineer at Cargill, Smith recently retired in order to spend more time with family, as well as coach softball.

Smith has been his daughter’s pitching and hitting coach for the past seven years. She is currently a senior at Maple Grove High School, is the reigning Gatorade Player of the Year for Minnesota and has verbally committed to pitch next year at Louisiana State University.
