Whitney Canton led the Blazer basketball team to a pair of wins last week, scoring 12 points in the 66-62 comeback win at Hamline on Wednesday (Jan. 16), before closing the week with a season high 18 as the Blazers cruised past St. Olaf on Saturday (Jan. 19). She has now scored in double figures in a season long three straight games, and six times total on the year, all Blazer wins.
As she has done all season, she did the bulk of her damage at the free throw line last week, going 15-of-19 from the stripe over the two games. The most she has made over a two-game stretch in her career, she extends her MIAC leading total to 4.4 made free throws per game. She also shot 50% and 63% respectively from the field in the two games, while raising her scoring average to 9.3 points per game.
