College of Saint Benedict

First year Ally Hjort had a great weekend on the mound for the College of Saint Benedict last week. She played in four of the team’s six games and picked up three wins and a save, and because of her successful weekend she is this week’s CSB Athlete of the Week.
 
Hjort threw a complete game no-hitter in a 6-0 win over Augsburg Wednesday, which was the first no-hitter of her career. She also had nine strikeouts, just one shy of her career-high of 10.
 
Hjort gave up three hits and no runs in a 7-0 win over Bethel Saturday and struck out seven batters. She earned a save after coming in and throwing the final 2.2 innings in a 2-0 win over Bethel and struck out two batters.
 
She earned a third win after pitching the final three innings in a 6-2 win over Carleton. Hjort finishes the week with 19 strikeouts, eight hits and zero runs given up in 19.2 innings pitched. She is now 7-2 and is sixth in the MIAC with a total of 63 strikeouts.
 
CSB is back in action and back at home Tuesday, April 24, when it hosts Hamline at 3:30 p.m. on the new turf field.
