On Saturday at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint Johns University indoor track and field invite, senior Allison Kosobud won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.56, and won by nearly four seconds. Her time is now currently 10^th best in Division III, thus making her this week’s CSB Athlete of the Week.
 
Kosobud’s time in the 800 from Saturday also has her leading the MIAC by more than a second. Her time is just over two seconds shy of the school record, which she set in 2014. However, she did beat her previous season best by three seconds.
 
Kosobud and her teammates are gearing up for the MIAC Indoor Championships, which are Feb. 24-25 at St. Thomas. In her first year on the track and field team, Kosobud won the 800-meter run at the MIAC Indoor Championships. She took second as a sophomore and fifth last season. Kosobud also competed in the 800-meter run at the 2014 NCAA Indoor Championships and took 14^th.
 
CSB has one more meet left before the conference meet as it competes next at St. Olaf on Friday, Feb. 17.
